The short answer
Choose the video job before choosing the style. Demonstrate how the product works, reveal a benefit, answer an objection, compare a choice, show evidence, announce a change, explain a use case, retell a customer situation without inventing proof, or create a memorable brand pattern. Each job needs different source material and a different review standard.
Nine product-video jobs worth saving
Use these as brief types. Replace the example with real product evidence before production.
Demonstration
Show one product action from input to result. Keep the evidence visible and remove decorative cuts that hide the step.
Benefit reveal
Start with the recurring problem, show the mechanism and end on the changed state.
Objection answer
Name a real concern and answer it with a constraint, demonstration or sourced policy.
Comparison
Contrast two choices on one meaningful dimension without inventing a winner.
Use-case story
Place the product inside a specific job, audience and moment instead of claiming it works for everyone.
Feature change
Show what changed, who receives it and what remains the same.
Process proof
Reveal how the product or service is made, reviewed or delivered.
Reference checklist
Turn a complex buying decision into a small sequence the viewer can save.
Recurring format
Build a recognizable series that can carry a new product angle each week.
Software products need visible cause and effect
A cursor tour is not automatically a demonstration.
Start with the state before the action. Show the click, input or decision that changes it. End with the exact result and keep enough context on screen that a viewer can understand what happened without narration. Zoom only when the interface detail is genuinely too small.
For an AI product, separate generated output from the product interface and label conceptual examples. Never fabricate a dashboard, metric or customer result to make the sequence feel complete.
Before and after
Useful when the state change is the proof.
One workflow
Useful when the buyer needs to see the steps and handoffs.
Constraint explained
Useful when a limit changes whether the product fits.
Choice clarified
Useful when buyers compare methods rather than brands.
Physical products need scale, texture and use
The viewer should learn what the object is like, not only see it rotating on a clean background.
Use close-ups for material and finish, wider shots for scale and one real action for use. Keep packaging, colour and proportions accurate. If the visual is AI-generated, do not let it imply a feature, accessory or surface that the product does not have.
An unboxing sequence works when setup matters. A benefit reveal works when the visible result is honest. A comparison works when the tested condition is controlled.
Build a reference card for every example
Record why the video works so the team can reuse the principle without copying the execution.
Save the audience, question, source material, opening device, evidence, duration, format and CTA. Add one line on what would make the example misleading in another context. That turns inspiration into a governed brief library.
When Prolifik generates a product-led short from a URL, keep the page that supplied the claim and review the output against it. Brand Intelligence can carry colour and tone, but the operator still owns accuracy.
Choose the CTA that follows the evidence
A product video should earn the next step before asking for it.
A demonstration can lead to a product page. An objection answer can lead to documentation or pricing. A comparison can lead to a decision guide. A launch update can lead to release notes. Match the link to the proof the viewer just saw.
Avoid adding a generic “learn more” label to every example. Name the task: see the workflow, compare plans, try the generator or read the specification.
Turn a real product page into short-form briefs
Use the product, audience and offer already on your website to generate branded video variations, then review every claim before publishing.
