Create Reels with ChatGPT and a Connected Video Tool

Move from a ChatGPT request to a rendered Reel with Prolifik. Choose suitable footage, supply exact copy and check the returned video before posting.

A conversation can coordinate creation, but the deliverable is the playable file.

To create a Reel with ChatGPT, ask for a finished file through a connected video tool and specify what the viewer should see. A script, shot list or caption can help prepare the work, but none is the rendered Reel.

Prolifik gives a connected assistant tools for creating branded content and retrieving the resulting media. The practical workflow starts with the material you have: written copy, library visuals or your own recording. Choosing that input first keeps the request within what the tool can actually produce.

The example below creates a fictional workshop announcement using B-roll and exact text. It illustrates a request and its checks; it does not claim a production run or measured creation time.

Make the connection available to this conversation

Connect Prolifik using its MCP setup guide and the current official OpenAI instructions for custom MCP connections. Availability depends on the ChatGPT surface, workspace permissions and the account's access. Menu names and connection controls can change, so use the linked setup instructions instead of relying on an old screenshot.

Once connected, name the service in the request: “Use Prolifik to show my brands and available content tools.” A response describing a service is different from a tool call returning the brand data. Check that the selected brand is the one whose logo and voice belong in this Reel.

Keep the first task small. One finished piece exposes missing inputs much more clearly than a request to create a month of content in several formats.

Choose an input that supports the promise

Our fictional workshop teaches people to repair a loose cabinet handle. We have the workshop's description and saved brand, but no footage of a real attendee or completed repair. B-roll can support the invitation without claiming to show an actual class.

The brief should describe that distinction:

Make one Reel for our cabinet-repair workshop. Use suitable general workshop B-roll with text. We do not have footage of the class, so avoid describing the background as an actual attendee or demonstration. The message is that participants will practice fixing a loose cabinet handle. I will supply the exact event details separately.

If the purpose were to prove a repair technique, we would need real footage that shows it. Likewise, an app demonstration needs a recording of the app. Prolifik's Hook & Demo workflow requires that recording; a URL does not automatically capture the interface.

Write the message for the chosen visual format

For this illustrative workshop, the on-screen copy might read:

That loose handle does not need another temporary fix. Learn the repair on a practice cabinet. Bring your questions. Leave knowing the next step.

These lines describe the fictional session, not a guaranteed result for every participant. A real business should replace the teaching promise with its actual lesson plan and put confirmed booking details in the post caption or another appropriate placement.

Ask ChatGPT to show the complete text before rendering. Choose one closing action, such as viewing the workshop details. Avoid simultaneously asking viewers to book, follow, comment and share. The B-roll format guide helps distinguish a supporting montage from a recorded demonstration.

Turn the approved brief into a content job

The current Prolifik creation tool accepts a brand, a format and a count. For this workflow, use b-roll, count one and download delivery. Exact copy goes in customTexts as one object containing text. The assistant should check the tool's current schema and the account's render allowance before submitting.

A useful next request is:

Create one Prolifik B-roll piece with the approved text and the selected brand. Use general workshop visuals if the library has suitable material. Keep the saved logo. Return a download draft, not a scheduled post. If the requested visual theme is unavailable, tell me rather than presenting unrelated footage as a workshop scene.

Library filters help select available material; they do not promise an exact shot. If precise tools, hands or repair steps matter, supply appropriate footage through a supported workflow instead of escalating the prompt's adjectives.

Follow the render to a playable result

create_content_job returns an asynchronous job. Ask ChatGPT to retain the job identifier and retrieve it with get_content_job. A useful final response includes the resulting piece identifier and media link, with any failure clearly identified.

Do not interpret a chat message such as “I've queued your Reel” as evidence that a video exists. The content piece must finish rendering and return usable media. When a batch partially fails, the assistant should report which pieces are ready rather than flattening every result into a single success label.

If a request times out, keep its idempotency key when recovering that same creation attempt. A fresh request should represent a deliberate new piece, not a guess about whether the first request was accepted.

Check the Reel in the conditions people will watch it

Watch the opening at phone size and continue through the ending. The background should support the workshop message without making the words disappear. Check that the text remains readable over both light and dark shots, and that the final line has enough space to finish the thought.

Then inspect the file with sound off. If the message depends on music or an implied demonstration that is absent, revise the copy or the media choice. The social video accessibility guide is useful when deciding what information must remain visible.

For a copy correction, request a specific change to the existing piece and retrieve the replacement render. Once it is ready, downloading and scheduling are separate actions. If you choose to publish through Prolifik, select the exact already-connected account and inspect the resulting publication status. ChatGPT's role is to coordinate those steps around the content you intend to create.

Make the request produce a video
